Tragedia en Texas. Al menos ocho personas murieron atropelladas por una multitud que asistió al Festival Astroworld, celebrado en el NRG Park de Texas, según lo informó Sputnik.
Según lo informó el jefe de Bomberos de Houston, Samuel Peña «Esta noche tenemos al menos ocho muertes confirmadas. Y hay decenas de individuos que resultaron heridos aquí, en este evento».
El funcionario agregó que cerca de 50.000 personas asistieron al concierto del rapero Travis Scott, provocando un tumulto.
Todo empezó al rededor de las 9:15 p.m. cuando la multitud comenzó a acercarse a la parte delantera del escenario aproximadamente 50.000 personas y allí comenzó el pánico, «se registraron algunas lesiones», ante todo entre los seguidores del artista que se encontraban en las primeras filas.
La presión de la gente dejó personas heridas, inconsciente y algunos entraron en paro cardiaco.
La Policía de Houston confirmó en su cuenta de Facebook el fallecimiento de ocho personas y las lesiones recibidas por decenas de espectadores.
«Se encuentran ingresadas 17 personas, (…) 11 de ellas sufrieron un paro cardíaco», aseguró un representante de las fuerzas del orden en una rueda de prensa divulgada por la red social.
Houston Chronicle precisó, por su parte, que el cantante detuvo varias veces el concierto para pedir a la seguridad que ayudara a los fans a salir de la multitud.
